The Opponents of the port project are not far off base with their objections. The costs of providing the noted benifits will outweigh the benefits themselves.

A new terminal in Southport will save ships an extra three mile trip upriver to Wilmington, but will require 250 trucks per hour and 10 trains per day traveling 20-30 miles by land to reach the same location.
